Review of Fund Raising Concert

The recent fund-raising concert at All Saints with the Pendyrus Male Choir and the Ariosa Singers raised £500 for the Church. The concert was a great success and here is the way the Pendyrus Choir reported the concert on their website:

The members of Pendyrus had a busy Friday on the 27th May. Firstly, they were invited to sing at the Wales National Pool Swansea for the annual Celtic Tri-Nations swimming competition. Then it was straight on the bus to make the short journey to All Saints Church in Oystermouth. It was a truly memorable evening of choral music with Pendyrus sharing the stage with one of the finest youth choirs in Wales, The Ariosa Singers. Together with their Musical Director Penny Ryan and Accompanist Hywel Evans, Ariosa demonstrated an impressive variety of music from Elgar to Schoenberg. Equally impressive was the choir's tone and diction which brought a standing ovation from the audience! Items from Pendyrus and Ariosa were interspersed with solos from Pendyrus' Ashley Richards and Tom Richards and these were very well received by an appreciative audience. Helping out at the organ for items such as the American Trilogy and Gwahoddiad was Les Ryan. It was lovely to see members of some of the finest choirs in Swansea in the church to support the concert and indeed several choristers from Morriston Orpheus and Dunvant Male Choir complimented Pendyrus on their choice of music and it's execution. The concert was a huge success and as a result, Ariosa has been invited to join Pendyrus for a joint concert in Tylorstown next year!
