New Tower Screen

New Tower Screen

On Mothering Sunday prayers of blessing were said at the new tower screen and doors at the entrance to the 13th century tower at All Saints'.

They were designed by the Church Architect, Dewi Evans. The doors are made out of solid oak and handcrafted locally. The screen mirrors the decorative inposts of the original Norman arch, which is also highlighted by the new glass work. The windows above help to bring in light from the medieval window behind.

Since its installation the screen has made a very real improvement to the problem of draughts coming from the tower, especially on blustery days, making the south aisle much more comfortable.

The new Tower Screen was gifted to All Saints' by Pauline Lloyd in loving memory of her husband, Edward. Edward was a faithful and much loved member of our Church family for many years and was a great supporter of the musical tradition of the parish. He was also a popular and much respected local dental surgeon and a long serving Rotarian.

We thank Pauline and the family for their most generous gift to the Church.
