Swansea Hope Night Shelter

Swansea Hope Night Shelter

We are most grateful to those who have come forward to be trained

and to help run the night shelter for the homeless on Tuesday evenings from

January to March. Last year the award winning project took over thirty rough

sleepers off the streets of Swansea.

Training sessions have now ended - so it is not possible for any new volunteers to join us. However, there are a number of behind the scenes tasks we need help with. These are carried out before and after the guests have stayed and do not require volunteers to attend the training. These tasks are:

Tuesday 8am: Being around to open up the Church room and receive the bags of bedding and report book from the previous night's shelter.

Tuesday 5pm: Checking that the Church room is clean and tidy with 100 paper, soap etc there. Checking the heating is on and the furniture is out, making the room welcoming for guests and helpers arrival at 6.30pm.

Wednesday 8am: Cleaning the Church room after the guests and helpers have left to ensure the room is ready for future use.

If you can help please contact our Co-ordinator, April Beynon, know on T!3661 10.
