Schools Concert at All Saints 14th Sept 2011
The James Davies Brass Group entertained over 250 primary school children recently at a Schools Proms in All Saints Church , as part of the All Saints Alive Music Festival. Canon Keith welcomed everyone.
The music ranged over 300 years from Purcell to Penclawdd composer Karl Jenkins. Students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff provided the music. Trombone player James McLeod described the different instruments in the group and fascinated the children with the different sounds. Les Ryan accompanied on the organ for some of the items. Sousa's foot tapping Liberty Bell march brought the proms to a rousing finale.
