Baptisms  &  Weddings

In the first instance please contact the Vicar

Baptisms / Christenings

What is Christian Baptism? It is a sign of God’s love, and together with the Eucharist was given to the Church by Jesus who was baptised in the River Jordan by St. John the Baptist.

Baptism brings your child into God’s family and is the beginning of the Christian journey for your son or daughter. The Parents and Godparents of children being baptised make promises to encourage and guide the children so that they understand the Christian faith.

We can arrange for a private service for you, just family and friends or if you prefer we can baptise your child during the main Sunday service.

It is our hope that when your child is 11 or 12, s/he will  reaffirm that faith in the service of Confirmation by the Bishop.

Weddings

If you decide to be married in Church, we shall do all we can to make your wedding a happy occasion. But before all your plans are made it is important that you contact the Vicar for an informal interview. A rehearsal in Church will be held a few days before the 'Big Day'.

A wedding is a public declaration of love and commitment between two people, but choosing to get married in Church has an added dimension - the assurance that God cares about your relationship and that his love and strength will be with you both. Christians believe that marriage is a gift from God.
